Art

My work centres on visual art and creative writing, combining the two in multimedia projects. I also facilitate creative practice through arts development.

Visually, I play around with illustration, graphic design and photography. Most of my work is created digitally on the Adobe Creative Suite and centres on themes of place, gender and nature. In a bid to get away from the computer screen, I have begun to reconnect with drawing on paper and now take commissions for hand-drawn illustrations and calligraphy.

My creative writing is influenced by Virginia Woolf, Angela Carter and Dolly Alderton. I explore with wit and honesty the experience of navigating life as a young woman today, drawing on the awkward and ostentatious social interactions we find ourselves in. As well as writing from a place of introspection, I reach out to my followers on social media to discuss common trends and experiences faced by women, using these Q&A responses to influence my work.

My award-winning poetry discusses mental health, relationships and womanhood. I write in a confessional style and find inspiration in the work of Sylvia Plath, Ted Hughes, Don Paterson and Charly Cox. My poems have been published in Iceberg Tales, Penny Thoughts and The Butler Scholarly Journal.
